Currently, I am working on the new edition (12th) of my beginner Spanish program, Puntos de partida (McGraw-Hill).
After experimenting with Wespañol, and the materiaIs for SPAN 113 (advanced intermediate), I am developing an all-inclusive website for my Spanish course for native/heritage speakers –a platform that includes all readings, grammar explanations, and activities for the course. The advantages of such a site are
- one-stop for all in the course
- capability for glossing, annotation and illustration of texts
- easy ready-made connections among grammar and vocabulary topics whenever relevant
- potential for collaboration with colleagues from other institutios
This project is in development, while being used by my students in SPAN 203. The ultimate goal is to turn it into an open educational resource for the teaching/learning of Spanish for native/heritage speakers.
